Child Protection Code in Tourism
This code provides guidance for everyone involved in tourism — travelers, suppliers, and staff — when there is suspicion of sexual or labor exploitation of children and adolescents.
Commitments
Inform all team members that sexual exploitation of minors is a crime with severe legal consequences for anyone involved.
Train staff to recognize warning signs and report immediately to protocol leads and authorities.
Display prevention materials in visible areas, using references such as TheCode.org, ChildSafe, UNICEF, and ECPAT.
Collaborate only with suppliers who comply with child‑protection laws and the Code of Conduct on the Sexual Exploitation of Children in Travel and Tourism.
Promote respect and shared responsibility among both domestic and international visitors.
Protecting minors is non‑negotiable. If exploitation is suspected or witnessed, report it at once to your guide or designated contact so authorities can intervene appropriately.
