5 Days in Galapagos
The Galapagos Islands host an extraordinary ecosystem that has remained virtually unchanged for millennia. Famous for inspiring Darwin’s theory of evolution, the islands are home to remarkable species such as marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, and iconic finches.
Visiting the Galapagos is a truly unique adventure, offering breathtaking landscapes and the chance to observe wildlife in their natural habitat. It’s an ideal destination to connect with nature, learn about biodiversity, and engage with local culture.
Explore the wonders of this Pacific archipelago through guided excursions in the National Park, swim alongside playful sea lions, relax near giant tortoises, and marvel at the ocean views in the company of curious iguanas.
Itinerary
DAY 1: SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND - INTERPRETATION CENTER - TIJERETAS HILL
Welcome to the stunning Galápagos Islands! After settling into your hotel in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, your guide will take you to the Interpretation Center to learn about the islands’ rich history and conservation efforts. Then, enjoy a short hike to Tijeretas Hill, a nesting site for frigate birds, offering panoramic views of the island. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace — walk along the scenic waterfront filled with sea lions or relax while watching the sunset at Playa Mann.
DAY 2: KICKER ROCK
Experience the adventure of snorkeling at the renowned Kicker Rock (León Dormido), a dramatic volcanic formation teeming with marine life. Swim alongside sea lions, colorful fish, rays, turtles, and maybe even hammerhead sharks. While the waters may be cold and the currents strong, the incredible wildlife makes it worthwhile. After a boat-side lunch, relax on a quiet, untouched beach before returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno in the afternoon.
DAY 3: CERRO COLORADO TORTOISE RESERVE – PUERTO CHINO BEACH – LA LOBERÍA
In San Cristóbal’s lush highlands, visit La Galapaguera, a giant tortoise breeding center, where you’ll observe these iconic animals at different stages of life in a semi-natural setting — perfect for photography. The center’s mission is to help restore the endangered San Cristóbal tortoise population to the wild.
Later, head southeast to Puerto Chino, a secluded beach known for its white sand, calm waters, and abundant wildlife, including seabirds, finches, and sea lions resting on nearby rocks. In the afternoon, explore La Lobería beach, home to a lively sea lion colony. Overnight stay in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.DAY 4: ESPAÑOLA ISLAND
In the morning, take a boat to Española Island, a journey of about 1.5 hours each way. Upon arrival, explore Suarez Point on a guided hike to spot Nazca and blue-footed boobies. After the hike, return to the boat for lunch, then enjoy snorkeling in nearby waters, where you may see tropical fish, rays, and more. Return to San Cristóbal in the late afternoon.
DAY 5: SAN CRISTOBAL AIRPORT – DEPARTURE
Spend your final morning on San Cristóbal Island relaxing at Playa Mann or Playa Carola, or take a last walk along the waterfront. At the appropriate time, you’ll be transferred to San Cristóbal Airport for your flight back to the mainland, marking the end of your tour.
